North Texas to Host National Youth License Coaching School

The National Youth License Coaching School is scheduled for Jan. 27-29 and Feb. 3-5, 2012. The National Youth License focuses upon the nature of children and the adjustments adults must make to coach them. The course curriculum covers ages from 4-12 years old.

Each day focuses upon one of the traditional soccer age groups of U6, U8, U10 or U12. The course combines both classroom (theory) and field (practical) session and concludes with written, oral and practical examinations.

The National Youth License Coaching School is recommended for coaches working in the various clubs' youth academy programs, directors of coaching for local playing associations, club academy coaching directors and those coaches who would like to improve their coaching skills at these age groups.

Many coaches consider the National Youth License as the "A License" for youth coaching. A National "D" Coaching license or waiver from the Director of Coaching and Player Development, Gary Williamson, is required to attend this coaching school.

The cost to attend the National Youth License is $550 per coach. A non-refundable deposit of $150 will reserve your place in this school with final payment on or before Jan. 23, in the form of cash or check/money order payable to North Texas Soccer.

This clinic is limited to 36 coaches, so register early! Check the North Texas Soccer web site for registration details.
