ODP Oklahoma Sub-Regional Event
…A Parent's Perspective

North Texas ODP Players, along with their families and friends, traveled to Edmond, Okla., to compete against Kansas, Nebraska and Oklahoma, Dec. 9-10. The North Texas teams, age groups '96 through '99, had a great time, enjoyed the competition, and absolutely loved their new black t-shirts!

For many of the younger age groups, this was the first time that they had the opportunity to wear the North Texas State "Flag" uniforms. The older players had proudly represented Texas and had worn these uniforms many times before. Either way, once players stepped onto the field, it was a battle of skill, speed and agility!

North Texas, known for its strong and talented pool of players, provided Kansas, Nebraska and Oklahoma with tough competition. The games were fast and physical, with several teams playing against older competitors. It was a great effort by all teams involved.

"It was fun getting to see the kids play against teams from other States. We had a blast!" one coach said.

Families felt that the college night seminar was "informative and quite helpful."

Most families and players checked into their hotels on Friday evening after the short drive from Texas. Games began on Friday, and continued through the early afternoon on Sunday, leaving time for the commute back to Texas.
