Dallas Sidekicks gearing up to kick off 2015-16 season

The Dallas Sidekicks’ 2015-16 season is right around the corner! Looking for a fifth franchise championship, the Sidekicks will begin their season with two games at Allen Event Center on Friday, Nov. 13, vs. the Missouri Comets, and Friday, Nov. 20, vs. the Las Vegas Legends. Tickets start at just $9!

In the second season of the Major Arena Soccer League, 21 of the most talented indoor soccer teams from the United States and Mexico will compete for the Ron Newman Cup. A league-wide realignment placed the Sidekicks in the Pacific Division alongside the Ontario Fury, Tacoma Stars, Soles de Sonora, and San Diego Sockers.

The 20-game season is an even split between home games and games on the road. After opening up with two home games, the team’s first trip to Tacoma since 1992 comes in early December with Friday-Sunday matches on Dec. 4 and Dec. 6, followed by a four-game homestand. A treat for long-time Sidekicks fans, familiar rivals San Diego (Dec. 12), Brownsville (Dec. 19 and Jan. 2) and Saltillo (Dec. 29) will make their way to Allen Event Center.

The middle of January will be spent South, hitting Saltillo and Brownsville for three games in three days beginning Jan. 8. Three home matches follow, with the Sidekicks facing the Tacoma Stars on Jan. 14, the Ontario Fury on Jan. 15 and their first look at new expansion team, Sonora, on Jan. 30. That night, the team will hit the road late for a quick trip to Missouri to face the Comets the next afternoon.

The Sidekicks will remain on the road for a back-to-back, facing Las Vegas on Feb. 12 and Ontario on Feb. 13.

Sidekick fans will have their last chance to catch the team at home during the regular season on Feb. 25, when Milwaukee makes their way to Allen Event Center.

The team will end the regular season on the road, taking on Sonora on Feb. 27 and then San Diego the next afternoon.

“It’s is going to be a very tough division this year, but we’re excited to get started,” Sidekicks Director of Soccer Operations Nick Stavrou said. “We’ve held several tryout sessions this summer to bring in new talent, and are in the process of selecting the best team possible so we can get to work. I hope our fans come out in full force to support us this year – there’s going to be a lot of great soccer this season.”

The Sidekicks are currently in training camp working to prepare for the new season. The 2015-16 season roster will be announced in soon – returning favorites will include Ricardinho and Fabinho, with others to be announced before the home opener.
