All Star Goalie Sagu Rejoins Dallas Sidekicks in 2012
ALLEN — The new-look Dallas Sidekicks of 2012 will have several new faces on the team during the inaugural season in the PASL. But one face will look familiar to Sidekicks fans.
All-Star goalie Sagu will rejoin the Sidekicks this season, after eight professional seasons with the Baltimore Blast of the MISL. Sagu began his career with the Sidekicks in 1999 and won WISL Goalkeeper of the Year in 2001 and 2002.
“My career began in Dallas,” Sagu said. “I have fond memories of my days there, and that’s where I always wanted to end my career.”
While in Baltimore, Sagu won Goalkeeper of the Year five times, and was an integral part of the three Baltimore Blast MISL championships.
“We are thrilled to welcome Sagu back to the Dallas Sidekicks organization,” said Tatu, Sidekicks head coach and general manager, and a former Sidekicks teammate of Sagu’s. “He brings experience and leadership to our team.”
The Dallas Sidekicks will return to indoor soccer this fall in the PASL, with home games being played at Allen Event Center. The first home game is Nov. 3, and the full schedule will be released in early September. Individual and season tickets are on sale now.
