Sidekicks Stay Busy In Summer
to Prep for 2016-17 Season

The Dallas Sidekicks are getting back up and running in preparation for our 2016-17 season. It has been an exciting off-season as the organization processes the 2015-16 season and makes the changes necessary to improve across the board.

One of the major goals this season is for the Sidekicks to increase their involvement in the North Texas community. Most recently, members of the front office, a few of the players —including Jamie Lovegrove, Mike Jones, Clint Ritter, Clark Binning, and Cameron Brown — as well as The Sidekicks Dancers attended the Allen USA Celebration Festival. The players ran a few skill sessions and the kids had the chance to kick the soccer ball through the inflatable and win some Dallas Sidekicks swag. While attending the Allen USA Celebration event, the Sidekicks players and staff also had the privilege of meeting some members of the FC Dallas Special Olympics Team.

A number of Sidekicks players have also been playing for the local NPSL team, the Liverpool Warriors. This includes key goal-scorers Cameron Brown and Cody Ellis. The Liverpool Warriors finished the regular season by making the NPSL playoffs.

Looking forward, the team has some exciting things occurring before the start of the 2016-17 season. The Sidekicks moved their headquarters to Allen Event Center, where fans will have the opportunity to purchase merchandise at our Kicks Corner. The team is currently holding training sessions so the players can work on their conditioning, practice together and build on last year's results.

The Dallas Sidekicks are also still offering their annual instructional camps throughout the DFW area, including Soccer Spectrum. Youth players aged 5-12 will have the unique opportunity to perfect their skills alongside professional soccer players. The camp program will be directed by former Sidekicks all-star defender and current assistant coach Nick Stavrou, as well as past and present Sidekicks.

The team is holding three tryouts this off-season. Session 1 is on Thurs., July 21, from 9 a.m.-Noon; session 2 is on Thurs., Aug. 18 from 9 a.m.-noon; and session 3 is on Thurs., Sept. 1, from 9 a.m.-Noon. There is a participation fee of $50, which includes a ticket for the 2016-17 season. Tryouts will be located at Inwood Soccer Center, 14801 Inwood Rd., in Addison. The team will officially be holding all their official team practices at the Fieldhouse this year.

The move to the Allen Event Center is an exciting one for the organization, and is part of a series of actions the team is taking to raise their profile and be better for our customers.
