HEART, MIND AND SOUL

Every year, NTX ODP players help by volunteering in a summer refugee soccer tournament sponsored by Vickery Baptist Church. The refugee children and their families, had to flee their home country with meager means to seek their refuge here in the United States.

As most of you know, Reace and I became dedicated to our involvement with the refugee program after our experience volunteering with the NTX ODP players two years ago. Though Reace is no longer age-eligible to continue her participation as a player in NTX ODP, our hearts, minds and souls remain connected to the refugee soccer program through our continued volunteer efforts.

The Vickery United U16 boys’ soccer team is trying out for the Boys Classic League this year. We have been fortunate enough this season to have the boys trained by Zach Loyd, professional defender for FC Dallas, and his wife, Casey Loyd. As a result, I’m happy to report the team is doing very well.

As we have done in the past, we are coming to you with a need for used soccer gear, in good condition (i.e. cleats, shin guards, socks, etc.). We need all sizes in any soccer gear you can spare.

Please contact us at the email address listed below if you have any soccer gear you wish to contribute to the soccer refugee program. All donations are considered to be tax deductible.

THANK YOU!
