The Push for Dr Pepper Dallas Cup’s Iconic Boot and Ball Trophy Continues This Week
It’s been a wild start to the 35th edition of the Dr Pepper Dallas Cup, as teams make their final push to advance to the knockout stages of the prestigious tournament. It will be determined on Wednesday which teams will have their tickets punched to the knockout stages, as group play concludes. Stadium games will continue on Wednesday, as six Gordon Jago Super Group teams will compete on the pristine Cotton Bowl pitch for their chance to keep their Championship dreams alive. The three Super Group bracket winners, along with the best second place team, will advance to the tournament’s semi-final round to be held at the Cotton Bowl starting at 5 p.m.
With only four spots available, competition will be tough between the Super Group’s heavyweight names, including Argentina’s River Plate, Chivas Guadalajara from Mexico, reigning champion Fulham of England, the U.S. U-20 National Team, and Brazilian clubs Fluminense and Coritiba, along with MLS sides FC Dallas and LA Galaxy.
Starting at 10 a.m. on Saturday, the U13, U14, U15 and U16 age groups Champions will be determined. The conclusion of Dr Pepper Dallas Cup XXXV will take place on Sunday, when the U17, Super 17s, U19 and Gordon Jago Super Group Championship matches are played at the Cotton Bowl. Games will begin at 9:30 a.m., with the Gordon Jago Super Group Championship starting at 6 p.m.
