Sports Nutrition 101 Quality Calories Myth vs. Fact

Myth: “I need to lean out and lose 5 pounds of body weight so I am going to skip breakfast.”  

Fact: Skipping meals is the worst thing you can do for weight loss. In order to lose body fat, you want your metabolism up and running. Eating small meals frequently, starting with breakfast, is the best way to boost metabolism! When you are asleep your body goes into catabolism or “breakdown mode”; breakfast stops breakdown and jumpstarts your metabolism. Eat a breakfast rich on whole grain carbohydrates, lean protein and healthy fat then fuel your body with small meals and snacks to maintain metabolism and energy levels.
