Coaching Education – A Review of Youth Modules
The spring soccer season is just around the corner and so is the planning for coaching education activities before the spring season. “Age-Specific” Youth Modules are available in two formats for associations hosting coaching clinics. The formats are the traditional classroom/field or the online/field format.
The online/field format requires the coach to take the course’s lecture online at their convenience or pace. During the course, the coach will register and attend a Field Training Event (FTE) to complete the requirements for the Coaching Certificate/License.
Youth Modules taught in the traditional classroom/field format have a new video analysis/review feature added to the lecture portion of the course. This new feature requires the hosting association to provide video technology along with setup and operational assistance.
The U6-U8 Youth Module is available in both formats. For the classroom/field format, the hosting association completes the U6-U8 Youth Module Request Form linked here. For the online/field format, completion of an On-Field Training Event (FTE) Request Form, also linked here, is required of any association seeking to host an FTE.
The U10 Youth Module is also available in both formats. For the classroom/field format, the hosting association completes the U10 Youth Module Request Form linked here. For the online/field format, completion of an On-Field Training Event (FTE) Request Form, also linked here, is required of any association seeking to host an FTE.
The U12 Youth Module is only available in the classroom/field format. The hosting association completes the U12 Youth Module Request Form linked here.
New for all Youth Modules is the delivery of the Coaching Manual. The host association’s On-Site Coordinator will provide coaches who have registered for the course with a link to the Coaching Manual on the North Texas Soccer web site. Coaches should download the Coaching Manual and bring it with them to the classroom lecture in either a digital or a printed format. The hosting association should have available printed copies for “walk-in” coaches.
Any request for the old “G” or “F” Coaching clinics will be converted to the appropriate Youth Module.
